Q. How many and what kind of people make up the group?
A. The group size is limited to 10, ensuring minimal impact on the environment and a high standard of service to each group member. Our clients come from all walks of life and usually share a sense of adventure and an appetite for the unusual.Q. Do people come alone or with a friend / partner?
A. The group consists of a mixture of singles and multiples. Although most start the expedition as strangers, we normally find that friendships are just a handshake away.Q. How can I know if this is right for me?
A. Most peoples perception of adventure travel in Africa differs, so there is no easy answer. All that we can say is that with Cameroon Adventure Expeditions the emphasis is on ADVENTURE and an in depth EXPERIENCE of Africa. While enjoying the benefits of modern accommodation, equipment & transport, on the Rain Forest and Mountain Expeditions, you would experience Africa as those early explorers did.Q. Are there any age limitations?
A. Health and fitness are probably more relevant than age. The age of most clients is between 20 and 55, but anyone in reasonably good health is welcome to join us. Even though you can trek all the way to the top of Mount Cameroon, at 4095 metres being the highest mountain in West Africa, a reasonable level of fitness and determination is required to reach the summit. Virtually all who try the mountain succeed.Q. Is it suitable for families or children?
A. Some of the activities are not suitable for children under the age of 16 years. However, we can design special itineraries for family groups but children must be at least 14 years of age. If you
require further information, please contact our office for details.Q. Can wildlife sightings be guaranteed?
A. It would be most unusual not to have wildlife sightings, but as we have no control over the wildlife
and prevailing conditions, we cannot give any guarantees.Q. What is included in the cost of the tour?
A. Your tour is ALL INCLUSIVE and covers all accommodation, equipment, all meals & snacks which includes an alcoholic / non alcoholic drink of your choice ( unlimited local drinks in local bars / restaurants ), all transport, all entrance fee's and charges, expedition guides and porters, Cameroon airport tax, laundry, etc. you only need to bring your personal spending money.Q. Is the itinerary likely to change?
A. Any major change is unlikely, but in Africa you should always expect the unexpected especially when travelling to the more remote area's. Your group leader is well versed in overcoming these rare occurrences, and more often than not they will add to the adventure. We do have alternative routes and plans to fall back on, but these are rarely required.Q. What happens if I do not want to join one of the expeditions / activities?
A. We pride ourselves on our flexibility and if at all possible would accommodate the clients request, however, as all places on expeditions / activities have been pre-booked and paid for, any expenses incurred outside of the itinerary would be the responsibility of the client.Q. How safe will I be in Cameroon?
A. Your safety is of paramount importance to us. Adventure travel to remote parts of the world must by its very nature present risks that most of us would not normally encounter. Since arriving in 1981 we have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in West Africa which allows us to remove or avoid most of these risks, however, participating in this kind of activity you must experience the occasional exhilarating moments, we consider these to be an essential ingredient of your big adventure.Q. Which inoculations are required for entry into Cameroon?
A. A valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is the only mandatory requirement for entry into Cameroon, however you will need to take an anti malarial medication, we recommend a visit to your doctor or a travel clinic for the latest information on recommended inoculations and types of medication as this information can be subject to change. Also a "Health Advice for Travellers" booklet is available free of charge from the Department of Health, PO Box 410, Wetherby, LS23 7LN, Tel: 0800 555 777.Q. What will the weather be like in Cameroon?
A. Cameroon is situated close to the equator, consequently for most of the year it is hot and dry with any rainfall occurring more often than not over night. The raining season extends from mid June through to mid September, we do not operate during this period.
